About The Position

Senior Accountant plays a key part in month-end close, project accounting, revenue and cost analysis, audit support, and budgeting. This role partners closely with project managers, operations, and leadership to ensure financial visibility at the project and organizational level. Key Responsibilities Financial Close & Reporting • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP, including revenue, cost of services, and project-related accounts. • Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, allocations, and reconciliations. • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, with emphasis on project costs, payroll allocations, and deferred revenue where applicable. • Other duties as needed. Project & Operational Accounting • Track and analyze project-based revenue and costs, including labor, subcontractors, and direct project expenses. • Assist with project budget setup and monitor actual-to-budget performance. • Analyze project profitability, utilization, and effectiveness. Revenue, Billing & Cash Flow • Support client billing arrangements including time-and-materials, fixed-price, and milestone-based billing. • Monitor cash flow related to project timing and collections. Financial Analysis & Reporting • Prepare management reports and ad-hoc financial analysis to support leadership decisions. • Assist with budgeting and forecasting aligned to project pipeline performance. • Develop pricing models, and cost estimates for sales bid. Audit, Compliance & Tax • Ensure GAAP compliance and support external audit requests. • Assist with tax-related filings and financial documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project accounting, cost accounting, financial analysis, or similar activity required
  • Proven experience completing month-end close.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience within a software development organization preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
