About The Position

Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a leading healthcare technology firm who is seeking a Senior Accountant (Payroll Focus) on a contract basis. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing payroll for approximately 700 employees across 41 states (excluding NY), with semi-monthly cycles. The position requires strong expertise in Workday Payroll and NetSuite, as well as experience with payroll journal entries, reconciliations, and process improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 4 years of technical accounting experience under US GAAP
• Advanced proficiency in Workday Payroll (ideally a “power user”)
• Strong experience with NetSuite
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Detail-oriented, proactive communicator, and comfortable asking questions to ensure accuracy

Nice To Haves

• Experience with financial reporting tools
• Background in public accounting

Responsibilities

• Accurately process semi-monthly payroll using Workday and OSV
• Prepare and book payroll journal entries and reconciliations
• Troubleshoot payroll errors and review payroll with leadership prior to submission
• Recommend improvements to payroll processes and system setup
• Support general ledger accounting and monthly close in NetSuite
• Assist with quarterly and annual tax payments, audit requests, and financial reporting
