About The Position

Cox Consulting Network (CCN) is seeking a Senior Accountant Consultant to support high-impact client engagements across industries including tech, software, private equity, and other growth-oriented environments. This is a project-based consulting opportunity (3–9+ months) with remote and hybrid options depending on client needs, ideal for hands-on professionals who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced settings.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a foundation in public accounting (Big 4 or mid-tier strongly preferred)
• Strong expertise in US GAAP and core accounting functions, including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Proven hands-on experience with transactional accounting (AP, AR, billing, cash applications, payroll, journal entries) with the ability to operate at both detailed and strategic levels
• Experience owning or supporting full-cycle accounting in high-volume, fast-paced environments
• Background supporting clients in industries such as technology, SaaS, private equity, or other high-growth sectors
• Experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606) and lease accounting (ASC 842)
• Demonstrated ability to support audits, prepare PBCs, and partner effectively with auditors and cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms
• Strong Excel and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to adapt quickly, add value, and operate in client-facing consulting environments

Nice To Haves

• CPA or CPA-eligible
• Blend of public accounting and industry experience (audit + operational accounting)
• Experience in private equity-backed or rapidly scaling companies
• Exposure to M&A, integrations, or technical accounting areas (ASC 805, SOX, SEC reporting)
• Experience leading work streams, mentoring junior staff, or owning portions of the close
• Experience improving or scaling accounting processes, particularly within transactional workflows
