About The Position

THE JOB / Senior Account Manager (League and Team Partnerships) (Health & Wellness Client) CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs. Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible. Priority will be given to candidates open to hybrid work (3 days a week in the office) in one of our office locations—Stamford, CT, New York, NY, Chicago, IL, Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, or Los Angeles, CA. EST is a prerequisite for the position. Remote candidates will not be considered. We are looking for a Senior Account Manager to manage a robust portfolio of client partnerships in the MLB and the health and wellness space. This hybrid role involves strategic planning, creative development and execution, day-to-day client and partner management, and budget oversight. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, self-starter who can multitask and work independently while collaborating with internal and external partners. This position requires exceptional communication, time management, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail. You will work closely with Account Directors and key client, agency, and internal Octagon teams to lead and execute compelling sponsorship programming. Requirements

  • 4-5 years of sponsorship account management, brand marketing, or event marketing experience.
  • A passion for sports and entertainment with a focus on baseball and the health and wellness space.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while producing high-quality work within deadlines.
  • Strong self-starter with excellent team dynamics; an exceptional sense to be proactive and jump in wherever needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Exceptional client service and impressive work ethic with the initiative to consistently go above and beyond.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (in particular PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
  • Experience in presentation development.
  • Collaborative in nature with a “no job is too small” positive attitude.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically, work weekends, or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel level: Moderate (20-45%).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in client-facing roles and property management is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a reliable agency contact for client sponsorship teams, internal client departments, and agency partners.
  • Lead all aspects of the day-to-day relationships with key sponsorship partners and talent, including properties and vendors.
  • Spearhead the collaboration, planning, and development of client programming with internal specialty groups.
  • Craft strategic recommendations that are relevant, rooted in fan behavior, and aligned with client brand initiatives.
  • Lead delivery, management, and development of core sponsorship branding assets and integrations.
  • Oversee and manage direct reports, while also supporting their career development.
  • Manage budgets and finances related to programs and assist in asset management (e.g., ticket allocations, financial tracking).
  • Provide on-site hospitality and event management, including management of on-site staff.
  • Prepare formal documentation for projects, including workback schedules, timelines, sell-in decks, agency POVs, program overviews, and recap summaries.
  • Lead all MLB approvals via the MLB insight submission platform.
  • Monitor MLB player and alumni channels to ensure posts go live and for competitive support.
