About The Position

Timber Ridge at Talus is a senior living community in Issaquah, Washington, known for its unique combination of an all-inclusive lifestyle, superior hospitality, and beautiful natural location, being the area's first Silver LEED-certified Life Plan Community. The community caters to well-traveled, outdoor-loving seniors. The Security Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily operations of the security function within this community, ensuring the safety and security of residents, staff, visitors, and property. This role involves effectively implementing security protocols, maintaining emergency preparedness plans, and fostering a safe and welcoming environment. The Security Supervisor works closely with the Director of Plant Operations, overseeing a team of security personnel and collaborating with other departments to ensure a safe, responsive, and collaborative atmosphere.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must possess a valid WA State Driver's license and a personal driving record consistent with the requirements of the LCS Drier Selection Policy.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in security management or law enforcement with at least one year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in using security technology and systems.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
  • Must have and maintain a valid First Aid/CPR certification, or the ability to obtain within 180 days (about 6 months) of hire.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and life safety regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in criminal justice, public safety or related field preferred.
  • Experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of the security function in the community, ensuring the safety and security of residents, staff, visitors, and property.
  • Ensure that security protocols are implemented effectively.
  • Maintain emergency preparedness plans.
  • Ensure the community remains a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Oversee a team of security personnel.
  • Partner with other departments to foster a safe, responsive, and collaborative environment.
  • Report for duty as assigned by the Director of Plant Operations for the duration of a disaster during emergencies or natural disasters.
  • Assist the Director of Plant Operations with department staff hiring and training.
  • Ensure authorization to admit all incoming traffic according to established policies and procedures.
  • Develop and manage the security schedule, assign daily run sheets, and minimize overtime while maintaining the community's safety and operational integrity.
  • Meet staffing needs, including scheduling and filling in for absent staff, and covering shifts when no one else is available.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections and compliance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Provide deliveries of packages, newspapers, and essential items to residents.
