Requirements

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • An active Armed Guard Card or license is required as mandated by state and/or local regulations.
  • A high school diploma or recognized equivalent such as a GED is required as proof for the client.
  • At least six months of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, assisting with appropriate actions in accordance with Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the healthcare facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and maintain a visible presence.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter potential security-related issues within the healthcare environment.
  • Document and report any observed irregularities, incidents, or unusual circumstances to the appropriate Allied Universal personnel.
  • Support the healthcare location by assisting staff, patients, and visitors with directions, information, and security-related concerns.
  • Participate in security-related drills, training, and/or emergency preparedness activities as required by the healthcare location and Allied Universal.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance while representing Allied Universal at all times.
