As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, log visitors and vehicles, and support smooth dock and yard operations. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with team members and site personnel. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, drivers, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at entrances, gates, and/or loading areas by verifying identification and credentials, processing visitor and contractor check-in, issuing temporary badges as directed, and maintaining required logs and records.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound vehicle and trailer traffic by coordinating with site contacts, checking appointment details as required, confirming seal numbers and/or bill of lading information when directed, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site leadership and/or emergency services per post orders and completing accurate incident documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, perimeter, and parking areas to help to deter unauthorized activity, observe for hazards or unusual conditions, and report maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
