Security Officer - Full Time Housing Patrol

Requirements
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Nice To Haves
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a shelter location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site contacts and/or supervisors.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, common areas, entrances, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials when required, and support orderly entry and exit in accordance with location policies.
- Assist with de-escalation support, provide information and directions, and communicate professionally with residents and/or staff during routine operations and unusual events.
