About The Position

As a Security Officer Preventive Site Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and program participants by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and reporting details according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including interior areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter spaces, to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify entry permissions for authorized individuals, while documenting visitor activity, observed issues, and/or incident information in required logs and reports.
• Support a professional environment by providing directions, addressing routine questions, and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders when assistance is needed.
