Security Officer - Housing Patrol

As a Security Officer Diploma Patrol in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in various industries, including Government. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support access activity with strong customer service and communication. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact through teamwork, integrity, and a caring, reliable approach while serving people in a dynamic public-facing environment.
Requirements
- Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
Nice To Haves
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, residents, and/or members of the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and appropriate emergency response actions.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including interior areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter spaces, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor public areas and high-traffic locations for policy compliance, assist with de-escalation support when needed, and communicate respectfully with individuals seeking assistance and/or direction.
- Support daily operations by maintaining logs, preparing incident reports, and coordinating with authorized personnel and/or emergency services when circumstances call for additional response.
