As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will conduct routine patrols and primarily drive between assigned areas, helping to discourage security-related incidents through a visible presence. You will document observations, respond to calls for service, and support students, staff, and visitors with clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in an educational location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with medical calls, fire alarms, disorderly conduct, and policy violations, and/or coordinating with campus authorities and local first responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence halls, common areas, loading docks, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards, maintenance issues, and unsecured doors.
  • Monitor access points and interior areas as assigned, including verifying identification and/or authorization, managing visitor check-in guidance, enforcing posted rules, and supporting special events and peak traffic periods.
  • Document patrol activities, incidents, and service requests in written and/or electronic reports, communicate observations to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts, and assist with follow-up such as evidence preservation and lost and found procedures.
