As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher-education location, you will complete routine foot and driving patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to calls for assistance, and support students, staff, and visitors with calm, professional customer service. You will communicate clearly, document observations, and partner with site teams to resolve concerns. Requirements

  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an academic campus location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calls for assistance, suspicious activity, and medical and/or facility-related emergencies, and communicate updates to appropriate parties.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or policy concerns.
  • Monitor access points and observe campus activity, assist with directions and general inquiries, and report maintenance issues, policy violations, and unusual conditions according to post orders.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs of patrols, incidents, and actions taken, and cooperate with campus officials and/or local responders as needed.
