As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a higher-education setting, you will monitor and patrol campus spaces, conduct routine rounds, support access control, and provide a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly, assist students, faculty, and visitors with professionalism, and document observations. Requirements

  • Have 2+ years of security experience.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus staff and/or local emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence halls, parking areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points, check identification as required, and help manage visitor entry, deliveries, and key control according to post orders.
  • Document patrol activity and incidents in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate significant updates to supervisors and appropriate campus partners.
