About The Position

As a Security Officer - Exterior Foot Rounds in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will conduct routine foot patrols across campus areas, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, support access control points, and respond to calls with clear communication and customer service. You will document observations, share timely updates with your team, and build trust through professionalism. Requirements

• Be 21+ years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• The ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes, with working conditions varying by assignment and time of day.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, suspicious activity, and/or access concerns, and notify appropriate contacts as needed.
• Monitor access points and public spaces for security-related concerns, provide directions and assistance, and help to deter unauthorized entry and/or prohibited activity.
• Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation, and communicate pertinent information to site leadership and/or incoming personnel.
