Security Officer - X-Ray Screening
About The Position
As a Security Officer - X-Ray Screening in Kansas City, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech and telecom location, you will help monitor entry points by screening visitors, employees, deliveries, and packages, observing for unusual activity, and documenting security-related incidents. You will stay visible, communicate clearly with site teams, and deliver customer service that reflects our agile, reliable, and innovative approach. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access control requirements, and/or emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
- Screen employees, visitors, and contractors at entry points using metal detection, bag inspections, and/or other approved screening methods while maintaining a professional, respectful approach.
- Verify identification and required credentials, manage visitor check-in and badge issuance, and document entries, exits, and screening results in accordance with site policies.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including communicating with site leadership and contacting emergency services when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around interior areas, loading and receiving zones, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity, with working environments and conditions varying by site.
