As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech, media, and/or telecom location in New York, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and deliver customer service with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first mindset.

Requirements

  • Hold a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or policy concerns.
  • Monitor access points and security-related systems such as cameras, alarms, and communications equipment, and report irregular conditions per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or public responders as needed.
  • Document patrol activity, incidents, and client interactions in written and/or electronic reports, and communicate shift updates during handoff.
