As a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help support day-to-day security-related operations by screening people and items entering the site, monitoring assigned areas, and completing routine patrols as needed. You will maintain a visible presence, respond to alarms and/or access concerns, document activity using computer or tablet tools, and deliver professional customer service with integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach.

Requirements

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site employees, drivers, contractors, and/or visitors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen personnel and belongings at designated entry points using approved screening methods and equipment, and follow escalation procedures when prohibited items and/or policy concerns are identified.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site leadership and/or emergency services and completing required documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of docks, staging areas, parking lots, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, radios, and/or other site systems, communicate clearly with operations staff, and document observations, inspections, and incidents per Allied Universal reporting requirements.
