Job Description As a Security Officer - X-Ray Screener in Romeoville, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will greet associates and visitors, conduct screening and access control, and monitor key entry points, yards, and dock activity for security-related concerns. You will perform routine patrols, stay visible to help deter incidents, and communicate clearly while delivering customer-focused support. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Screen employees, visitors, vendors, and drivers using approved access control measures, including checking identification, confirming appointments, and issuing and/or collecting badges as required.
- Monitor entry and exit points, assist with trailer and yard traffic flow when assigned, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing reports and communicating updates to site management and Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the building, staging areas, and perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
