As a Screener with Allied Universal at a government location, you will greet visitors, verify credentials, and support entry screening that helps identify prohibited items. You will maintain a visible presence, conduct routine patrols in assigned areas, and document observations while providing clear, respectful communication. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security experience.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff by following site-specific access control and screening procedures, including verifying identification and inspecting bags or parcels as required.
  • Operate walk-through metal detectors, hand-held wands, x-ray equipment, and/or other screening tools in accordance with post orders, and report prohibited or suspicious items per policy.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with onsite personnel and emergency responders when appropriate.
  • Complete required logs and reports, document screening activity and unusual occurrences, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and/or site contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, building entry points, and nearby perimeter locations to help to deter policy violations and support order at the location.
