As a Security Officer - Welcome Center Desk in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Front Desk Officer at a busy retail mall location, you will welcome visitors, manage access and/or badges, monitor cameras and alarms, and serve as a calm first point of contact for security-related questions. You will help to deter incidents through high-visibility presence, clear communication with tenants and store teams, and accurate report writing. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, tenants, and visitors at the front desk by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access by greeting and screening visitors, issuing visitor credentials, confirming appointments, and directing guests and/or vendors to the proper retail or mall location.
  • Monitor and respond to alarms, radio traffic, and camera feeds as assigned, and report unusual activity to management in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Receive and document incidents, requests, and service calls, complete shift activity reports, and communicate updates to on-site personnel and/or local authorities when needed.
  • Support loss prevention and customer assistance efforts by maintaining a visible front desk presence, answering questions, and helping to deter unwanted activity through observation and timely reporting.
