Job Description As a Security Officer - Warehouse Gate in Winter Haven, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet visitors and drivers, verify credentials, manage entry and exit logs, and support security-related screening for people, vehicles, and shipments. You will stay visible at key access points, communicate clearly with site teams, and respond to incidents with professionalism. Requirements
- Have 1+ years of security experience.
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Control access for employees, contractors, and visitors by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining access logs, and directing foot and vehicle traffic to designated areas.
- Support shipping and receiving operations by coordinating truck driver check-in and/or check-out, confirming pickup and delivery documentation as required by post orders, and reporting irregularities through the chain of command.
- Monitor cameras, alarms, and access control systems, and report suspicious activity that may help to deter unauthorized entry, theft, and/or property damage.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, complete required reports, and conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, yards, docks, and perimeter areas as directed.
