Job Description As a Security Officer - Visitor Screening in Decatur, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet employees and visitors, support access screening procedures, verify credentials, and monitor entry points to help reduce security-related issues. You will stay highly visible, communicate clearly with site teams, and document observations and incidents. Requirements

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and contractors for authorized entry by checking identification, credentials, and access lists, and directing individuals through established screening checkpoints.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound activity such as vehicles, trailers, and packages by observing for unusual conditions, verifying documentation when required, and reporting concerns per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, completing incident reports, and assisting with coordination with site contacts and/or emergency services.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, yard, and perimeter to help to identify potential security-related issues, hazards, and/or policy violations and report findings to site leadership.
