Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A TSA-issued TWIC is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures, credential verification steps, and security-related policies at a utilities location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, and document visitor, vendor, and vehicle activity in accordance with post orders and location requirements.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, looking for unusual conditions and reporting security-related concerns, maintenance issues, and/or access control irregularities.
  • Support daily operations by completing logs, incident reports, and shift activity records, and by helping to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
