Job Description As a Security Officer - Visitor Badging Desk in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer at a utilities location, you will support daily operations through access control, badge checks, visitor processing, and clear communication with employees and contractors. You will complete routine patrols and detailed reports using a computer and/or tablet, helping to reduce security-related issues while delivering customer service. Requirements

  • Have 1 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21 or more years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, screening requirements, and/or emergency response activities at a utility location.
  • Control entry and exit at designated gates and checkpoints by verifying identification, authorizations, and visitor logs, and issuing temporary credentials as directed by site policy.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other access control systems, and promptly report irregular activity, equipment issues, and/or policy violations through established communication channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to appropriate site contacts and/or public responders when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including perimeter routes and restricted zones, and complete required security-related reports and documentation.
