About The Position

As a Security Officer - Visitor Badge Patrol in Takoma Park, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a residential location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support access points, respond to calls for assistance, and communicate clearly with residents, guests, and property staff while documenting observations. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations at a residential location in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, building corridors, amenity spaces, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor and/or control access points as assigned, assisting with visitor check-in, directing foot and vehicle traffic, and reporting suspicious activity to site leadership and/or local authorities as needed.
• Communicate clearly with residents, property management, and Allied Universal leadership, including completing reports, logging patrol activity, and reporting maintenance hazards or concerns observed during rounds.
