About The Position

As a Security Officer - Visitor Access Desk in Manassas, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading tech and telecom location where you will manage access control, greet and assist employees and visitors, and verify credentials to support site protocols. You will conduct routine patrols, respond to security-related concerns, and communicate clearly with onsite teams. Requirements

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • This is primarily a driving post.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures, checking credentials, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining entry and exit logs.
  • Monitor access points, alarms, and video systems for security-related activity, reporting irregularities and/or hazards according to post orders and escalation procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, including building interior, exterior, and perimeter areas, as assigned by site policy and operational needs.
  • Complete written and/or electronic reports such as shift activity logs, incident reports, and access documentation, and communicate updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
