About The Position

As a Security Officer - Vehicle Patrol Driver in Southport, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transportation, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a transportation location, you will conduct high-visibility patrols and vehicle rounds, help to deter security-related incidents, and support smooth daily operations through strong customer service and communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements. You will document observations, respond to requests, and collaborate with teammates while living Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, passengers, and/or staff by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout transportation facilities, docks and/or terminals, parking and staging areas, and along the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor and document activity at access points, check identification and/or credentials as required, and help to control vehicle and pedestrian flow in accordance with site guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with medical calls, disturbances, and/or hazardous conditions while coordinating with supervisors and local responders as needed.
  • Complete shift logs and incident reports, communicate observations to site leadership, and report maintenance concerns such as lighting outages, damaged fencing, and/or malfunctioning doors or gates.
