As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher-education location, you will conduct routine patrols on foot and by vehicle, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and assist students, faculty, and visitors with courteous communication. You will document observations, respond to calls for service, and support campus operations with professionalism. Requirements

  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and common areas, verify identification and/or credentials as required, and assist with visitor check-in and directions.
  • Respond to alarms, calls for service, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus partners and/or public responders as directed.
  • Document patrol activity and incidents in written reports, complete shift logs, and communicate observations and/or concerns to the site supervisor.
