Security Officer - Unarmed Vehicle Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Unarmed Vehicle Patrol in Petersburg, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a leading tech and telecom location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and incident reporting. You will communicate clearly with onsite teams and visitors, respond to requests with a customer-first mindset, and contribute to an agile, reliable, innovative operation built on teamwork and integrity.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients at a tech and/or telecom location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and actions taken per site guidelines.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout office, data center, and/or campus areas, including interior spaces, loading docks, and building perimeters as assigned.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity during patrols, assisting with badge checks, delivery coordination, and reporting irregular conditions to site contacts.
- Complete security-related reports and communicate with supervisors and/or site management regarding hazards, maintenance concerns, and operational issues observed during rounds.
