About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Rover Rounds in Santa Monica, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, stay highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support guests and tenants with clear communication and customer service. You will use teamwork and integrity while staying agile and reliable in a fast-moving environment that values caring people and innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Have at least 6 months of security experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and employees while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site management and/or public services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of common areas, storefront perimeters, loading areas, and parking lots to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or policy concerns.
• Monitor entrances and high-traffic areas, observe for suspicious behavior, and support loss prevention efforts by reporting concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete detailed incident and daily activity reports, document observations, and communicate timely updates to supervisors and/or site contacts.
