Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Rover Patrol in Ashland, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a fast-paced tech location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and/or calls for assistance, document activity, and support employees and visitors with helpful service and clear communication. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as directed.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of offices, labs, common areas, loading areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points by verifying credentials, managing visitor entry and/or deliveries per site policy, and directing individuals to the appropriate location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site contacts and/or emergency services when appropriate.
• Complete detailed reports of patrols, incidents, and observations, and communicate timely updates to supervisors and site personnel.
