About The Position

As a Security Officer - Courthouse Patrol Unarmed in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transportation location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and document observations with clear, timely reports. You will greet staff and visitors, provide directions and assistance, and communicate concerns to site contacts while supporting a caring, people-first culture built on agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help identify unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, assist with visitor and contractor check-in and/or directions as assigned, and help support orderly traffic flow around entrances and staging areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, disturbances, and/or suspicious behavior to site leadership and/or public responders as required.
  • Complete timely documentation such as shift activity reports and incident reports, and communicate observations and follow-up actions to the Allied Universal supervisor and/or site representatives.
