Security Officer - Unarmed Rover Driver
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Unarmed Rover Driver in Wichita, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access points and communicate clearly with site personnel while delivering customer-focused service grounded in integrity and teamwork. This is a driving post and requires a valid driver’s license per AU Driver Policy requirements.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and documenting actions taken.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the distribution facility, yard, and perimeter to help reduce the likelihood of unauthorized access, theft, and property damage.
- Monitor access points and vehicle traffic flow, verifying credentials and/or shipping documentation as required by post orders, and directing drivers to appropriate areas.
- Complete shift reports and incident documentation, communicate noteworthy activity to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision, and support loss prevention and operational continuity as assigned.
