About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Perimeter Driver in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage incidents, and support access control and visitor screening. You will document security-related activity, communicate clearly with site teams, and deliver professional customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid drivers license, backed by Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A TSA issued TWIC is required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following post orders, access control procedures, and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, participating in emergency response activities.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing notifications and required reports.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, process areas, tank farms, loading and/or unloading zones, and the perimeter, watching for unusual conditions and potential security-related concerns.
  • Support entry and exit operations by monitoring gates, checking identification and/or credentials, verifying deliveries and contractors as directed, and documenting truck traffic and visitor activity.
  • Complete routine documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift briefings, and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
