About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol in Wichita, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will greet guests with a customer-first mindset, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and document observations to support a reliable site presence. At Allied Universal, you will deliver through teamwork, integrity, and an agile approach to each shift.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and guests by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed.
• Respond to incidents, guest concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site management and/or emergency services when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail and entertainment location, including interior common areas, entrances, and perimeter routes, as assigned.
• Monitor access points, observe for unusual activity, and help to deter policy violations such as disorderly conduct and/or unauthorized access.
• Complete routine reports and incident documentation, communicate observations to site contacts, and support closing and/or opening duties as directed.
