About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Specialist in Kansas City, MO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a highly visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, customer-focused communication. You will complete routine patrols, document observations, and share timely updates with your team and property staff. Requirements

  • A guard card and/or security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and property staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout commercial property common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or access concerns.
  • Monitor access points and observe for unusual conditions, taking appropriate action within post orders and reporting concerns to property management and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, assistance to occupants, and coordination with public responders when needed.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs related to patrol activity, incidents, and property observations, and communicate relevant updates during shift transitions.
