About The Position

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Specialist in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic financial institution location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. In this unarmed patrol role, you will support access awareness and daily operations while reflecting our agile, reliable, and innovative approach, caring culture, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

A minimum of 2 years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience is required.
Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a financial services location.
Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and help to document events according to site protocols.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the location, including lobbies, offices, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter access points.
Monitor access points, observe visitor and employee activity, and help to report suspicious behavior, unsecured areas, and/or policy violations to the appropriate contacts.
Support opening and closing routines, assist with emergency situations as needed, and communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and first responders.
