As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Credential Officer in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. At this government location, Allied Universal Officers monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, support access control, and provide strong customer service and communication. As part of a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team, you will help to deter security-related incidents, assist visitors and staff, and bring integrity and teamwork to every shift.

Requirements

A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Access control and badge experience is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including interior areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter spaces, helping to identify unusual activity and/or unsecured conditions.
Monitor access points and public areas, verify authorized entry when required, and report policy violations, maintenance concerns, and/or suspicious behavior to appropriate personnel.
Support a professional environment by providing directions, addressing routine questions, and helping to de-escalate conflicts through respectful communication and adherence to post instructions.
