Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
• Be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
• Meet licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations, if required prior to employment
• Possess a valid driver’s license if the position requires driving

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an educational campus location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting relevant details and communicating with campus staff and/or first responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor and/or student activity, and report policy violations, maintenance concerns, and/or suspicious behavior according to site expectations.
• Support a welcoming campus environment by assisting students, staff, and visitors with directions, general information, and other customer service-related needs while maintaining awareness of security-related concerns.
