Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patient Unit Patrol in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to requests, document observations, and support staff and visitors with clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or equivalent as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess a guard card and/or security license, preferred.
  • Be able to lift up to 20 pounds, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical facility disturbances, disorderly conduct, and calls for assistance.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location and exterior perimeter, including corridors, lobbies, stairwells, parking areas, and other assigned areas.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by observing entrances, checking credentials as directed, and directing visitors to approved check-in areas.
  • Complete routine rounds to look for hazards, unsecured doors, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations, then report findings to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Operate security-related systems as assigned, such as radios, phones, CCTV, and alarm panels, and notify appropriate contacts when irregular activity is observed.
  • Write detailed incident reports and daily activity logs, documenting observations, actions taken, and follow-up notifications in accordance with site requirements.
  • Provide guidance during evacuations, drills, and/or other emergency situations by directing people to designated areas and coordinating with site staff and responding agencies as needed.
  • Support a respectful environment by using de-escalation techniques, setting clear boundaries, and requesting additional assistance when a situation warrants.
  • Maintain a professional presence and interact with the public in a courteous manner while following confidentiality expectations for a healthcare location.
