Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Unit in Seattle, WA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Allied Universal Patrol Unarmed Officer at a high-visibility government transit location, you will conduct routine patrols of platforms, stations, and surrounding areas, staying present to help to deter security-related incidents. You will observe and report unusual activity, assist with access control and incident response, and provide clear, respectful customer service to riders and staff. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Handcuffing certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to riders, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of platforms, stations, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance concerns for reporting.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation and coordination with site contacts and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Control access to restricted areas when assigned, verify identification and/or credentials, and direct visitors, contractors, and deliveries according to site-specific requirements.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate relevant information during shift briefings and post orders updates.
