As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a healthcare location, you will conduct routine rounds through patient care areas and public spaces, stay highly visible to help discourage incidents, and respond to calls for assistance with calm, professional communication. You will support staff, patients, and visitors with service focused interactions while documenting security-related activity and partnering with the team to act with integrity, agility, and reliability.

Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be able to provide proof of a high school diploma or GED, as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have at least 2 years of service in a healthcare and/or medical-related field.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors while carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, entrances, corridors, stairwells, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, suspicious activity, and medical emergency support requests, and relay information to appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, wayfinding, and queue management; report unauthorized access attempts per site procedures.
  • Complete daily activity reports and incident documentation, communicate observations via radio and/or phone, and coordinate with site leadership and local responders as directed.
