About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Driver Roving in Dearborn, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will conduct routine patrols throughout a property management location, staying highly visible while watching for security-related concerns and helping to deter incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site contacts, and provide a welcoming presence for residents, guests, and vendors. This is a driving post, so you will use a vehicle to complete patrol coverage and respond to calls for service.

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21 or more years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out Allied Universal and site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, requesting assistance, and documenting actions taken.
  • Monitor access points and property activity, verify authorization when required, and report maintenance concerns, hazards, and/or suspicious behavior to site contacts.
  • Complete daily activity reports and incident reports with accurate details, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and/or property staff during shift transitions.
