About The Position

As a Security Officer Unarmed Campus Rounds in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support staff and visitors through clear communication and responsive customer service. You will document activity, report concerns, and work as part of a team that reflects Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, caring for people, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess a New York State security guard license.
  • Have 1+ years of security experience.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, site-specific policies, and applicable government facility procedures, and by supporting security-related needs as assigned.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor processing, identification checks as directed, and directing guests to appropriate service areas while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and urgent situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and assisting with emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Complete reports and logs, document security-related incidents and observations, and communicate status updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
