As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government waterfront location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, professional communication. You will document observations, support access control and visitor directions, and partner with site contacts and your team to deliver reliable service with integrity in a caring, people-first culture.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all visitors and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government maritime facility.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, reporting, and timely notification to site leadership and/or public agency partners as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, docks, parking areas, and perimeter zones, noting unusual activity, unsecured doors or gates, and operational hazards, and documenting observations per post orders.
  • Control access at designated checkpoints by verifying identification, processing visitors and deliveries, maintaining logs, and directing traffic and pedestrian flow in accordance with site requirements.
  • Complete daily activity reports and incident documentation, communicate pertinent information during shift turnover, and participate in briefings and/or drills as assigned by management.
