As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a renowned cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol galleries, public spaces, and staff areas to help identify and report security-related concerns. You will conduct routine rounds, remain visible to help discourage incidents, and assist guests with a calm, customer-focused approach. Requirements
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions and outcomes per site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of galleries, public areas, offices, back-of-house spaces, loading areas, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Monitor entry points and restricted areas, helping to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited activities within exhibit and collection areas.
- Observe and report suspicious behavior, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns, coordinating with site contacts and Allied Universal supervision for follow-up.
- Assist with crowd management during peak visitation, special events, and/or after-hours programs while maintaining professional communication and service.
- Support emergency preparedness by participating in drills, assisting with evacuations and/or sheltering actions when directed, and relaying clear information to responders.
- Complete shift logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation with accurate, timely details per site requirements.
