About The Position

As a Security Officer - Tech Access Control Full-Time in BOISE, ID, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech and telecom location supporting access control. You will greet employees and visitors, verify badges, manage entry authorization, and complete routine patrols while staying visible to help reduce security-related incidents. Document activity, communicate with site teams, and use a computer and/or tablet as needed. Be part of an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be able to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a tech, media, and/or telecom location.
  • Manage access control at entrances and designated checkpoints by verifying identification, issuing and recovering visitor credentials, maintaining entry logs, and directing visitors, vendors, and contractors to appropriate areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including escalations involving access disputes, unauthorized entry attempts, and/or disruptive behavior.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems, reporting unusual activity to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision and documenting events in required reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, checking doors, gates, and restricted areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or policy violations.
