Job Description As a Security Officer - Shopping Center Patrol in San Jose, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a high-energy retail and entertainment location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visibly present to help deter security-related incidents, and assist guests and team members with clear, professional communication. You will support a welcoming environment while documenting observations and responding to concerns as needed. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and entertainment location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, medical calls, and/or alarms, and escalate to local emergency services as needed.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance issues.
Monitor access points and high-traffic areas, observe for suspicious behavior, and support crowd management during peak business hours and special events.
Complete shift logs and incident reports, communicate clearly with site management and/or law enforcement, and follow chain-of-command and post orders.
