As a Security Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, manage access control and badging, and respond to incidents with clear communication and strong customer service. You may support screening processes as needed while documenting activity using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Having customer service experience is preferred.
  • Having X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Having access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to the client by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access for employees, visitors, and vendors by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing personnel to designated areas, including shipping and receiving zones.
  • Monitor and report security-related activity using CCTV, alarms, radio communications, and/or access control systems, and complete detailed incident and shift documentation.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to site leadership and emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouse areas, trailer yards, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
