Learn more: aus.com/earnmore. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will monitor assigned areas, support screening and access procedures, and communicate clearly with staff, visitors, and residents while providing customer service. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have 1+ years of security experience.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common spaces, stairwells, entrances, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit by checking identification, maintaining visitor logs, and directing individuals to appropriate areas per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical calls, and policy violations; request additional assistance as needed.
  • Complete accurate incident reports, activity logs, and shift handoffs; communicate observed hazards, maintenance concerns, and/or policy issues to site leadership.
